Default attention all C4 builders!!!!

Hey guys I m puttin a motor in a 1984 C4 for a buddy he bought the car with no motor or tranny.... So what i need to know is there any thing i need to look out for ? Any problems you guys have had in the past doing this same job ? I own a Vette but have never had to pull motor ... :confused:

Should be the same as any other motor install.
Maybe get a service manual so you know where to hook up all the wiring.

I believe the computer in the 84 is programed around the crossfire injection system. So if you are going to run a L98 or LT1 you will most likely have to up grade the computer to a later model ECM. A company called Painless Wiring has the adapter harnesses. Good luck p.s. don't forget to upgrade the fuel pump too.

I m not so worried about the act of installing the motor .....its more like the front of the motor .....and such, its going to be carbed.......so dont need computer ......i got a manual i m hoping everything comes out ok.. :crazy:

Watch for hood clearance with an air cleaner. you need to run electric fans. A small block is the same in 84 as most of the smallblocks so should be real straightforward. Are you using the accessories off a X-fire engine? Pwr steering , alt. etc.? :smash:

power steering yes ........thats all he has ......going to try and find the front off of an old 350 will that work? :confused:
