Since we are suppose to have a front plate here and I drive so much I can't afford a ticket every week, we've always had a clear plate cover. The first one we had was just about as thick as the stock cover only clear. Well, unforunately I hit a pipe snake that was laying in the road at about 70mph and it destroyed it. (or forunately depending on how you look at it, at least it wasn't the bumper!) I ordered a new one from MAD but this one is very thin and flimsy. It's already cracked at the top. Does anyone know where I might purchase one like the original? It was on the car when we got it.
Good question. I bought one recently from Corvette Central and it's a thin, cheaply made piece of junk. It's certainly not up to the standards of the original opaque cover. I guess you get what you pay for. In this case, I would have been willing to pay more for a better cover, but don't have any idea where to find one.
Sorry this is the best pick I have of the front and my Mongoose is blocking most of it. You can tell it follows the lines of the factory cover and gives it a more finished look than going without it.
BTW, this pic was taken to see the color differences. I've consider painting the car the same color as the bike. It's called Fusion Yellow and it's a Metallic!
