Default No high beams?

So, my high beams do not work? I have a 1994 C4, new owner, never needed them before. Handle is on the left side of the wheel and says to pull back. I assume they are like any other car I have driven in, a chimp could do it. Well...nothing.

Is this a matter of a broken part in the steering column? A bad light bulb(s)? The handle doesn't even click in place like on my other car. What is going on?

Thanks

I suspect the switch is your problem ,
you are not getting contact on the hi beam circuit or the contacts are faulty

I haven't come across any threads on this. Similar ones, but not what I need. Any idea if it is an easy fix?

Do you hear a 'click' when you try to turn the highbeams on?

If not, then the rod could be broken, or the switch came loose and is out of adjustment or it is bad.

The switch is at the bottom of the column.

There is a rod that runs from the handle, down the column to the switch.

You need to remove the knee bolster to access it.

Default High beams

I have the same problem. Said to be common to C4s.
I'm told that a rod needs to be bent (in a certain way) to enable the high beams.
Good news- no expensive parts.
Bad news- need to take it to a shop that knows just what to do.

I've seen posts with the directions how to fix it, but you need to be reading the directions while you're lying on your back in the drivers footwell with the knee panel removed and maybe parts of the steering column removed.
Not fun.

hhhmm, wow. Did you happen to subscribe to those posts with directions or have any links? I'm willing to possibly give it a try...

Did you get your's fixed? I haven't really had a need for mine, to be honest.

Default High Beams

Here's the post I was thinking of:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...pictorial.html

it's mostly about fixing the tilt wheel (looseness) but it touches on the high beam switch problem.

Good luck!
