i met a guy saturday at buds chevrolet in saint marys, ohio that had a super clean silver '88 convertible with red interior, black top, and repro ZR1 wheels. i commented to the owner just how nice his corvette was and how i liked the silver/red combo. he indicated that about 2000 corvettes were silver, and he has never seen another like it. well i checked the black book, and in '88, only 385 were silver metallic. of those, approximately 33%, or approximately 125 were convertibles, and with the 6 interior colors available, i doubt if there were 25 silver/red convertibles built that year. no wonder he said he's never seen another like it. BTW, '88 was the only year (other than 1996) that red was offered as a recommended color with silver.
A friend of my Fathers bought a new 92 Convertible from a dealer. The car was ordered from the factory but the original buyer backed out. The car was Yellow Exterior with Blue Leather Interior and a White top. I can't imagine another person ordering that color combo.
That yellow/blue sounds gross!!! The black book does not list any blue interiors available in 92 at all so I wonder how they got blue? Mine is a light blue inside but it's a 91...
From: Frankenstein never scared me. Marsupials do, because they're fassst…and they DART, THAT'S crazy!

Re: rare 1988 (joe ciechanowski)
As you all probably already know, they only made 2,050 1988 35th Anniversary Edition Corvettes, but did you know they only made 266 of them with 4 + 3 Tranny? You will see one of them in my sig. :D
Oh, Oh, and my 1997 C5 came from the factory with the updated ’98 engine in it. Only 14 of these exist! :yesnod:
Ok, this post has nothing to do with color combo’s, just thought I would brag. LOL!

It was a light blue. Yeah, I know the black book doesn't list any blue interiors in 92. My father has a video of the car somewhere when it had 50 miles or so on it. He sent it to me when I was at school in FL. I also have a Road and Track test of a 92 ZR1 with the light blue interior.
Interesting, I would have thought your car would have had Dark Blue. (Road and track had a test on a Steel Blue/Dark Blue ZR-1 also) I looked back through my 1990-1993 Corvette Dealer Brochures and could not find a lighter blue interior advertised anywhere. A mystery color!

Ok, OK...I can get in on this too!! Out of the 20639 vettes made in 91, Mine was 1 of 1406 that didn't have electronic A/C, 1 of 733 Z07's, and 1 of 379 with Black Cloth seats. With those numbers, there are probably 5 or less cars like it.  :jester

Yellow and light blue!?!? :U And I didn't know you could get a dark blue either. Although I swear the blue listed in Mid America and everyone else's catalog for 90-91 blue replacement mats, carpet, etc, is NOT the blue in my car. But there is no other blue in the black book. What they show looks much darker. Not sure, but I need mats as mine did not come with the factory ones. :( Afraid to order for fear it's not the right color.

Could be that your's have just faded to a lighter color form exposure to the Sun.
Sounds really nice! Yellow and blue  There's someone here on the forum with an early C4 that is gold with a blue interior
If we're talking rare here my Ruby is one of 498 6 speed convertibles. Don't know what the total production was for luggage racks but I was told it's about 200. I've never seen another one yet personally that had both 6 speed AND luggage rack  On the other hand my 85 is the ONE AND ONLY Corvette used on the production of Corvette Pinball  :smash:
