Engine Repair Question
]Hi Guys. Looks like I have a leaky Head Gasket, or Cracked Head. Should I take it to a dealer, or does anybody know of a good Corvette mechanic in the Alameda/Oakland area of California?

No dealer or vette shop needed. Just find someone who knows SBC should be easy to find

Stay away from the dealer. I've used Yelp.com successfully to find auto repair places that do great work. They have a rating system from the customers that's indepedent. I used Yelp to have a Corvette inspected by a highly rated repair shop in the Bay area and it was a good experience.

Well...when you check out the Northern CA section (as I suggested in your duplicate thread) you'll see lot's of recommendations for Abel Chevrolet.

The dealer may tell you they dont work on these cars. If you have tools this can be your long dreamed project and save at least $500 on labor.
