Default Stalling after a trip?

So I overlooked it the 1st time, but now it happened again...

First off, I have a 1994, stock C4. I drove it home from work and stopped at a friend's house. Everything went fine on the drive. Then I get back in the car to leave and it sounded like it wanted to give me trouble, but it started right up...then stalled. I started her back up and I had to feather the gas pedal and I noticed the air vent on top of the dash blowing out hot air and fogging up my windshield. The only thing I'v noticed while driving is my coolant temp riding around 208 degrees while cruising and maybe 223 in traffic. Is this related to my issue or am I looking at a bigger problem?

And no, the Optispark has not got wet. I've never even driven in the rain. However, I have only owned the car for a month, but no issues other than this. Oh, and the first time it happened, It started and stalled immediately and then started right up, no heat blowing, no peddle feather, just kind of like I didn't turn it on.

Help!

Oh and the pic is after I started back up. The other dials always read right on that fat line.

I'd see what kind of codes it's blowing. You may not necessarily get an SES for the code either.

SES = Service Engine Soon?

I found this: "Beginning in 1994, you short pin "12" to pin "4" and once again turn the ignition switch to "On" without starting the engine."

How do you short pin 12 to 4 without screwin everything else up? Is it just a wire touching the 2 together?

"Short" isnt the right term I guess its "ground". Use a u shaped paper clip to make it more manageable.

I dunno about opti's but it kinda sounds like some kinda heat soak getting to an electrical component. I have a L98 so I cant tell ya what that might be.

Someone with better knowledge will chime in.

Good luck!

Thanks. I'll do that and see what codes I get.
