My LT4 is sort of my 3rd car. So it's more of a every other weekend kind of thing. We had a baby in December, so I didn't have much time for it since then.
The other day, when I was replacing the radiator, the battery was dead. We charged it up and I looked to see what was left on. It was light switch located on the rear view.
It seems that if the car door is open, the light automatically comes on. Though if you flip the switch when the door is open, the light goes off. I think the last time I drove it, I flipped it off this way thinking I had turned it off. However if you do this, once you shut the door the switch is now in the on position.
Is the switch supposed to operate this way? It seems kind of dumb to make it turn off, but by turning it off you're really turning it on....
Your inside rearview mirror includes two map lamps.
The lamps will go on when a door is opened. When the
doors are closed and the ignition is on, press the switch
to turn on the lamps.
IIRC the map lights will go out after the ignition is turned off (as long as the interior light switch by the headlamp switch isn't on). Similar to the visor lights.
Try this. Crank the car, open the door. The rear view lamp will be on. Flip the switch, and see if it goes off...If it does go off, when you close the door does it come back on?
