After much research I finally bit the bullet and bought a set of Nitto 555 Extremes from Discount Tire direct. Got them for $158 ea including the Tire replacement certificate, stems and free shipping. I've heard good things about them. I can't wait to get them installed come spring. I'll update on ride quality etc.
I just got them on my 91. They work very well so far. Weather here is cold and I'm a little surprised at how they will break loose at the 1-2 shift (only at full throttle), but I think that's more related to the cold weather and the worn suspenion not planting them like it should.
I just put on 2, 315/35-17 Nitto 555 on my 95. got them from discount tires also.they ride great and they are as wide as the goodyears d-3 i had on before.the total price for everthing was a round $420 .GOOD DEAL.

It's a summer tire in the cold. Not much else can be expected.
Finally got them mounted and what a difference in ride quality and handling. I can't vouch for noise yet as I pulled my mufflers off but will have them back on again next weekend. I love these tires so far
I'm looking to go to 315's in the rear of my car. I would like the DS3's but the nitto 555's are alot cheaper. Would someone who has had them both be able to give me an idea as to their differences good or bad? Thanks.
I’m still running the Goodyear GS-D3 on the 95 but I recently replaced the oem run flats on the 04 with nitto Invos (they had a slightly better rating in the wet than the 555).
In the dry when the road is warm man they stick like glue …. However you do have to be careful when briskly going around corners in the rain as they will pitch out. As a summer tire I think that the nitto’s are great. They are not a cold weather tire. It will be interestig to see how long they last .... one down side to the C5 however is that you cannot rotate the tires.
