I was looking at the mid america catalog and they have a vats bypass module. My question is do you guys think thats a good idea? My car has never had a problem with vats but the car is 22 years old. I would rather do a littel PM work then get broke down somewere.
Thanks alot
Jim
That is why I asked because
in 90+ cars the resistor bypass mod ( which you can do with $1 worth of resistors from Radio Shack )
is not supposed to work because the VATS is in the CCM ; not a standalone unit as in earlier cars
Do it, my car has no problems with driving or engine, but yesterday it decided to go to vats shut down and that means waiting around for 5 min before starting again. Im getting it taken off my chip once I get a reburn and tune.
Ok I think that I will look into that getting done. Right now I have no way to reprograhm the computer. maybe I can find a shop in orlando to do that. Or maybe I'll just but the cord and hook it up to a lap top. If thats the way its done.
Someone is doing tune ups when we do the road rally april 21 in tampa fl. I may be able to ask then.
