Ruby here has the worst ...and most undeniable personality of any car I've owned. (and I'm closing in on 100 cars in my lifetime) I had to put her away early last fall for a bad master cylinder. After I replaced it, I decided to fire her up and listen to her idle. ...the battery was dead as a doornail. Apparently, I waited too long to fix her and she got upset. So she's been sitting in the garage collecting LOTS of dust since then. Again, I apparently made here mad because she didn't want to start. The battery was low so all I got was a click. (new battery as of December)
Anyway, since it's getting nice out, I better back her out and show her some love. She's getting cranky in her old age.
I've blown the worst of the dust off, but she needs a good wash and wax. This week if I can get some of the projects away from the door to get her outside, I'll get her spiffed up again. It's about time to activate the insurance too so I can stretch her legs a bit.
The weather is warming up. Give her a bath....maybe she'd be happier if she wasn't covered in 2" of topsoil. I swear, you could drop seeds on that car, spit on it, and you'd have crops in 3 weeks.
How the 57 came out? Got pictures of it? I bet it looks very cool!
Yeah, the '57 came out decent. Not great, because that paint is the worst. I was able to save it for driver quality. Yes, unfortunately, she looks like that again. Poor girl. She's always covered in dust and dirt. I think what ticked her off this time is I wiped off the Nova sitting next to her and not her. As I said, she's sensitive and has an attitude.
The old battery was on it's last legs for months. It finally died. A 10 amp charge wouldn't charge it, a 40 amp charge wouldn't charge it and the 200 amp jump start yielded a "click". ..it was DEAD. I got her back to the land of the living and sat in her while she idled and I worked it through the gear in the garage.
Here's a couple shots of the '57 after some color sanding....
Tell me ALL about it. I've even cleaned up, reorganized, rearranged and got rid of stuff. At least all the spare engines are inside now, and all the tools have a drawer to go in, but that's about it. I'm still working in the driveway.
here is what you do
you by your wife a 86 vette for 3 grand and tell her you cant bring it home until you have a place to keep due till Ins.regulation, then she's forgets about the new bathroom she's been nagging you about for the last 3 year. then you get this
I'm just curious to know what could possibly generate that kind of dust in 6 months. Set your shop-vac to "suck" not "blow".
And, how do you keep from getting scrapes and gouges in the side of the C4?
