While I was repairing a LH headlight holder problem I noticed the hemi-spherical vac canister just lying there. It looks as though it should be "fastened" somewhere but I could not find any available brackets, fasteners or such.
Can anyone give me an idea or pic of how/where that canister is to be located.
Just went to take a pic of my 87. No way to get a good one without taking the hood off. The mounting surface is vertical against the front fender well. Two bolts, 10 mm head go from the outside, in. Look from the outer side, in front of the tire. You should have 2 holes in the fender well. One is very near the bottom edge.
Pics of the 88 ??
I'll take a look while in there installing my under-hood light switch wiring.
My current 35th Anni looks much like my prior one save for the lack of window tint...and this one have much better paint.
Soon as I get some wax on her I'll be snapping some pics and will post.
Thanks much for the help...
No need for a switch, unless you just really want it...there's a fuse by the left-hand side marker, under the hood, that you can pull to disconnect the under-hood lights.
I've installed the wire & sw harness but haven't taken a look for the fuse.
Instead my attention was diverted to the two broken tabs on the vac canister and my subsequent "McGuiver" (sp) of brackets to retain the canister using the stock bolts...
Just checked my '88 FSM and the under-hood lights are powered from the CTSY/CLK Fuse, so no under-hood fuse.
I'm really glad I bought this 35th Anni, in spite of the obvious issues and a few I didn't catch. I really needed a "project" to get my butt moving and this car is it. Since the exterior & interior are in such great condition, it's fun to find and fix all these little issues.

As my old Air Force Shop Chief used to say "It'll keep your a$$ off the streets and outta' the pool halls"...
