Default C4 sear replacement ?

I have an 88 and purchased it with replacement leather seats (standard).from al knoch.They pulled out passenger seat and only laid in back and seat.
How do you install new back ? I guess I an figure out the seat clip on the bottom but cannot figure out how to get the verticle steel rods inside the metal clips on the shell of the back. Any help ?? thanks....http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...ies/crazy2.gif

Are those steel rods between the seat back and the back bolsters or are the rods on the outside of the back bolsters?

Default C4 seat replacement

Hey Mehall2;

I recently installed new standard seats from Corvette Central in my 87 Vert. Seat backs were quite a chore. One thing that helped was a "push tool" that I made from a long worn out screwdriver. I ground a V shape wedge to help push the steel rods into the clips on the back support. Pushed in on one side at a time. Kept those clips in place while I used the "tool" to push in the other side. Took several attempts but it worked.
That, plus, i'm guessing, maybe 4 beers.
Good luck.
