So my sister decided to take my son for spring break this week and the wife and I thought we'd celebrate last night by taking the old girl out for a cruise. All was well until we parked and I turned off the headlights. The driver's side light started to retract and then halfway, it stopped rotating. I could hear the motor still winding so I know that's ok, but the light stayed stuck half way open. I turned the lights back on and the driver's side rotated back up correctly, but it won't go down completely without help.
I'm thinking its one of the nylon gears but haven't looked at it yet, been stuck at work and won't be able to check it out until later this week. Anyone else have this problem? What was the solution? I'd like to order the parts so I have them ready for this weekend to install.

Make sure it,s not hitting a hose or wire. Put your hood up and try the lights. Mine was hitting the hose that goes from the radiator to overflow taank.

Its funny you said that. I had worked the lights the day before with the hood open and everything was fine. I was messing with the hose routing of the vapor canister last week to see which hoses needed to be replaced. I opened the hood tonight and the lights opened and closed fine. I closed the hood and the light got stuck going down again but this time, instead of helping it close, I let the motor shut down and took a flashlight to the opening and saw the problem The light was hitting the vapor canister solenoid. I moved it and all is well for now. Nice when stuff is that simple.
