I am not sure I am using the right wording but when you open the hood on early C4s the courtsey lights go on under the hood. The bulb has in front of it what looks like a end to a bulb with no glass. I think that is what turns the courtsey light on under the hood. Are those little switches sold in auto parts stores or must they be order special from Corvette suppliers. I believe one of mine is bad as the bulb flickers until you keep playing with the hood.

Or a bad connection in the socket itself, the mercury switches rarely fail.
