Default Air intake packages?

I ran across this on Corvette Central, and I'd like it, but its 330 bucks.

I was wondering if there was another company that made a similar product for less money. I know on my old car, I was going to go for a 120 dollar K&N intake, and I ended up getting a Spectre intake that did exactly the same thing and just bought a K&N filter to attach. I wouldn't mind doing about the same thing, but I cant find anything on Spectre or K&N's websites for C4 corvettes. Did anyone else go this route and find anything cheaper?

I really like the look also. The cost seems way out of line. And no I have not seen anything cheaper. If I worked in metal I'd buy one just to replicate. Probably the only difference is the look over stock.
Still.....looks good

I have one of these, worth it? Idk.. previous owner payed for it. looks cool though. Usually first thing people notice when I open the hood and it blows their mind to see a triple intake. I've never seen a knockoff of it.

There's always this, but to me it looks like an slp filter with a new stock housing, and also way too expensive.

I held out until I got a used one. I payed $100 for it and then bought new filters. It fit my 91 so I don't see why they wouldn't fit an early model.

I would think so .. I don't remember if there is a difference in the radiator shroud area. I know the tilted the radiator a little but don't remember what year at the moment.

That sticker ads 40HP and covers a scratch there . I hope to have it powder coated red someday and loose the sticker. I don't know why I worry so much a bout a little scratch. I suspect when my hood is up they will be staring at the engine not the intake.

I had one on my 94. Mine was an early one that was then called a "K&N triple". I think they sold it to SLP and now they call it a "claw".

As for performance, I doubt that it does much, but when I was getting ready to sell my 94, I put it back to stock. Mine was an everyday driver so the first day I drove it I noticed the car didn't accelerate as well so I wondered what was wrong until I remembered the change. In other words, I noticed some difference, but not a huge change.

I have also seen these come up for sale used fairly often and at about half price or less.

Good luck with your search.

One thing I forgot to mention is the filters are $25 a piece. Try to find one with good filters.

Hey there . I just bought one got it last week, and I looked everywhere for a intake . With my research I could not find anything like this at all. There is nothing else for c4 , well I there is one other I think it's called the vector or something like that. with the other one you have to cut the shroud. I also saw a mod made with with a cold air in a c5 , where the shroud was opened up at the bottom where it let's cold air in.looked like a great idea, I'm going to see if I can do the same mod on my 95. If you want to see the mod just type in cold air intakes at the search spot at the top of this page and you will find it .

True, but a visible (on the outside) sticker is always double a hidden one.
