Default Targa top storage??

Well need to store my acrylic Top... Wondering if anyone makes a set up to mount the top on the wall.. I found a set up for a C5.. But nothing for a C4...

I'm limited on storage space.. So want to mount it on the wall..

Any help would be appreciated.. Thank you

I just bought a couple of padded J-brackets at Home Depot and set the back end of the top on them with the front end leaning up against the wall.

*edit* - you can see part of it above the refrigerator on the upper left side of this pic:

I thought of that idea.. But I don't have a garage..so was going to mount in spare great room in basement.... And I am pretty sure wife would not like those big hooks in the wall... Not to mention all sorts of things seem to always fall and break all by themselves... When I'm not home and the step children are...

Lost two flat screens from simply falling off a shelf all by themselves..

My targa top racks. C4 on the right, C5 on the left. Made from PVC tubing and elbows. I cut up a swimming pool noodle for padding on the bottom. I got the naugahyde covers from one of the Corvette suppliers, don't remember which one. The brown sheets cover the holes in the tops of the covers. Bolted to the garage studs with lag bolts. i slide the tops to one side to release the opposite side and they come right out.

Now that's a good/safe idea.

Maybe a good garment/suit bag and hang it in a closet.

Is there any reason not to store it in the rear of the car in the car mount?

I leave my spare top in there with the leather cover over it as it provides cover for whatever I leave under it.

Thought of that also... But if I want to take the top that's on the car now off... I will have no place to store it... So I need to leave one home... Just need to secure it well somewhere ...

I am assuming you glued the PVC into place?
Did you have to drill a pilot hole into the PVC?
Seems like the "closed loop" of the PVC is to protect the top from falling. Good idea. Did you use 1/2 or 3/4 inch? Wondering about strength to hold the weight of the top.

Thanks for the assistance!

The PVC is 1-1/4" Outside Diameter. I don't know if PVC is sized by ID or OD, so that's why I said OD to make that clear.

The lag bolts are about 3" long x 1/4". They have to be long enough to go through the PVC, the wallboard (5/8" thick in my case) and into the studs. I live in a condo, so there's also a plywood firebreak under the wallboard. I don't know how thick the firebreak is.

If you look closely at the pictures, you can see the lag bolt heads about 1" below the elbows. I did drill holes in the PVC for the bolts. And pilot holes into the studs.
