door panel color
This is one of those stupid questions, I dont claim to be smart. Anyway my 90 vert is red on red. I was cleaning it for a show and found the drivers door inside panel is not the same as the passenger. I know the drivers side has the window switchs but its a gray color even for the arm rest where as the other side is red. My son says the the gray is to continue from the dash since its the drivers side with some controls.

The drivers side door panel on my 92 is the same. The arm rest is the same color as the dash. Your son and I have the same idea about the reason.

your son is pretty much correct. it was a design feature, and 90 and 91 corvettes have this unique feature. if you were to stand behind the car, looking forward, the drivers door panel bezel will continue up and around to the dash/instrument panel hump, down to the radio bezel and finally to the console assembly/glove box door. i guess they were trying to convey a wrap around theme - you know, the jet fighter look.
