I began the process of degreasing and detailing the engine and front suspension the other day.
During the process, it appears that one of the previous owners painted the fuel injector covers, and probably the valve covers too.
Doing a search here for what a 1992 motor should look like, I discovered another owner who had black injector covers and what looked like aluminum valve covers.
Can someone tell me what is correct on this car?
Further research online has come up empty on replacement covers in the proper finish.
Can anyone suggest a source of supply for both the proper FI covers as well as the valve covers?
Check some of the Corvette recyclers for the intake covers. You can have the valve covers bead blasted and then painted to the proper color to look stock. If you have the patience, you can also polish the covers.
One tip: when you pull the pass side valve cover, you don't need to disconnect the EGR pipe, even though it looks like it's in the way. Patience is required, but suddenly the cover will be out.
