Battery issue
my 1986 vette battery died on me suddenly. Not sure why. I had the battery recharged and when I put it back in, it started up just fine and I let it sit for a few mins with nothing on (radio, lights, ect). Turned it off. Tried it again immediately and the voltage display showed it going down slowly and it would not start.
Any ideas?

Bad battery or you got a short somewhere. Have the battery tested at a auto store, if it's okay, then take an amp meter or multimeter that measures amps and put in between negative battery post and negative cable connector, should read about 15-30mA. If its significantly more, then pull fuses until you see the amps drops. That will at least tell you what part of the electrical system is shorting out. Although it sounds like the rather dramatic drop in you battery would point more towards a bad battery.
