Judging by condition, It should be a $50k car at most. It's hard to believe that Armstrongs brief ownership wold have that much power. It's not like he drove it to the moon, and it is in nowhere near the condition as when he owned it. It would be interesting to see how much it would go for on a no reserve auction. Neat story though.

The Historical value of the car is what is driving that price. Those that look at the car and poo poo the price are missing that valuable piece of the puzzle. We all know that the Astronauts had Vettes and here is one of those vettes from arguably the most famous Astronaut in America on the auction block
The second thing is that whoever has ~$245k to spend on the car is not going to be a DIYer that tries to fix it up in his back garage......it'll get to the hands of someone that will take the car to Pro to have it fully restored to original condition and then put on display or taken on a trailer to car shows and driven sparingly
