Are prices on C4s ticking up?
Put a fresh coat of wax on my 92 this weekend and drove it to work today.
A coworker asked what it would cost to get one. He has seen mine on several occasions and has been back and forth on buying one.
We checked the local ads and the Bulletin Board sales booklet and the prices are about $500 to $1000 more then when I bought mine last December. A local dealer has also bumped the price on one that is on his lot.
Maybe it is because summer is coming. Maybe because we are in the south with all this nice weather we have been having.

Book values are much higher then asking or even selling prices right now and that has hit almost all forms of collectible or specialty cars. The markets in some cases are seasonally driven. C4's should start seeing increases for good quality cars. The neglected and abused will wither for a while longer until demand increases due to the C3 prices increasing. C4's are seeing what late model C3's did. There was a time that big bumper C3's were giveaways. Now, since the chrome bumper cars are out of reach, big bumper cars are climbing. The C4 will also start to climb in the coming years.

Yep! C4's are increasing in value dramaticly. More and more people have come to recognize the true value of a C4 Corvette. At current rates of appreciation I can see the values of these cars doubling. The $2000 car could be worth $4000, mainly because of the difficulty in securing good parts cars.

Been telling people for years if you want a fun HOT ROD buy a C-4 ..Few bucks and DA DA Hot Rod..Some still trying to buy the over priced 69 camaros and the like .. I have $17 in my 96 LT-4 and have fun and have not spent $30-40 and it's 75% new and a show winner... We know the deal... Got to love it...

I got my C4 black vert in a trade last year in November. Did a lot of research before I traded NADA had it High Book at 15200.00 it a 87 took it because it would turn classic at first of year. January I checked book again and it showed 18000.00 plus change. I take that with a grain of salt but the car is in excellent condition. the true value is what the buyer is willing to pay. but I was happy with the deal there is a black c4 coup sitting on a small lot here for 10,500.oo look like it would clean up to be a nice car

I thought they were going up, but there are still a couple of very tempting medium-mile 6-spd 95's near me for as cheap as I've ever seen.
A few people here and there seem to be cashing out still.

I guess I helped the increase.....paid $9,300 and have spent $4,000 so far for tires, total alignment, all fluids changed, upholstery, and electrical fixes.......
No matter the worth/cost, I like the shape/design of the 1986/1987 Corvettes.

I think a nice C4 is real bang for the $$ right now.I just picked up a 93 Ruby coupe 6 speed in mint conditon for 10500. Ive been in the car business for over 30 yrs and in todays world 10k dont buy much....let alone a turnkey mint C4....Im sure the prices will only be goin up from here on nice well kept cars...buy one while still affordable.....enjoy it..keep it nice..itll be a good investment in not too distant future

May be going up, but what the heck, still a fun drive and don't hold your breath about the value going up enough to make a killing. If you more or less break even, that should just be considered icing on the cake. Seems like they are at a point where the price should be stable or gradually edging up as long as they are solid cars in reasonable shape.

I paid high dollar for my C4, Its a 90 vert with 28000 on the clock. It was a car I found and just had to have it. I paid 12,700 for it. and I'm not even looking back. Now it has 31000 on the clock and someone called me from Atlanta and offered 15 for it. Is the price going up? I dont know. Do I like my C4? yes and the fun I have with it you cant put a price on. Like some of the other post, If you keep it clean and serviced I dont believe you will lose anything other then the cost of having a nice car to drive that everybody would like to have.
