Default governor

I have 1996 collectors edition with a lt4 engine. Can anyone tell me if there is a governor on it at any point? I heard its governed at 155. Not really wanting to test that theory out though

No speed limiter or governor. Top speed is limited by HP / wind resistance.

Supposed to be a top speed of around 185. Depends of course on how many horses escaped over the last 16 years as well.

That's simply not true.

Top speed is more likely to be in the low 170s for an LT4 car, high 160s for an LT1 car.

Not sure about 90 and up but 85-89 have an RPM limit set in the chip. It is there but default is something like 10,000 RPM.

You will never reach 185 wit a stock LT4

Yes, they do have an rev limiter.
But nowhere near 10k RPM. A stock engine would blow well before you reach that level.
Redline on a stock LT4 is 6300 RPM
