I picked up a set of L98 valve covers to play with to see if I could make them look like something, If they come out good then I will put them on my car. I spent 2 hours after work today on 1 of them. I think about a week each then they will be done. Let me know what you guys think so far.
I have done that and many other too. It looks nice sitting there but once on the car they get filthy and corrode and become an eyesore. better to paint them or buy some aftermarket, it's just too hard to keep them nice.

I picked these covers up just to play around with a little. I did get them for a good price from a forum member. I just wanted to see if I could polish them. But know I may paint them black with a red insert. I will do that and see what they look like. Its not like I need them for my car. But as everyone knows the stock valve covers on a L98 stink.
Was looking at my valve covers today. Just got the original build sheet for my car from The Corvette Museum. Noted the photos in their original glossy don't look like what's on my car. Since the car was once stolen, wondered if the engine is original? The glossy shows valve covers with "Corvette" imprinted on them. Mine look like the ones you're working on. Paint might look better. The work never ends.
