I was stopped in traffic on the highway and got rearended. The power pushed my head into the rollbar above our heads and knocked me out. Came too sitting in traffic wondering what was going on. Doctor told me I was lucky to be alive because i was on blood thinners and hitting the bar could have given me internal bleeding. Got a concussion.
I have a 92 vert. with hardtop. Now that the nice weather is here I bet I never put the top on it again. No need to. I park it in the garage. If it looks like rain I'll drive my Tahoe. It's true they don't have a lot of storage room in them but is a sports car not a station wagon. My C3 convertible has more storage room but I love driving my 92.
get the Vert. You will never look back. Maybe more chassis flex then a coupe. But much more fun. I have had 4-5 coupes now the vert. completely happy, you will need a hat on sunny days.
I have a 91 vert that I bought just after selling my 84 coupe. I have had it for 16 years. My biggest problem with it is blind spots with the top up. It's hard to see left or right and behind. It may be alittle better with the models you are looking at because of the glass rear window ( mine is plastic). But between the two , the vert hands down.
Find a vert with a removable hardtop. Best of both worlds.
Actually BETTER than both worlds because the combination of X-brace and hardtop make the convertible stiffer than the coupe (I am told -- but I noticed the difference right away when I installed the hardtop).
The coupe IMHO is too reminiscent of the old Pinto fastback look. The 'vert roofline -- both ragtop and hardtop -- looks more like a sports car. And WITHOUT the roofline it looks even better.
good stuff everyone and thank you! Well after 2 different dealers bait and switch deal im going to look for an individual to buy from. Guess the dealers all went to the "internet car special" school and they dont actually have on lot the car you ask about. What is that all about anyway? The hunt continues.
