Hey everyone. I just wanted to know if anyone has heard of this, have one or have a picture of the C5 bumper on a C4. I'm not interested in buying this (I prefer the late model C4 body style) but was wondering how it looks on a C4. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pts/3032430310.html
Kinda like Man-*****. Doesn't belong there..........
IMO it makes as much sense as glass shoes. If you want a C5, you buy a C5. Turning a C4 into a rolling abortion combination of two generations is horrible...but to each his own.
You can pick up the correct bumper on Ebay. I plan on parting out a C4 and will put it on Craigslist. I agree keep it stock. There are alot of purists who won't buy a modified Corvette. They want it with original parts.

There are plenty of pix on the internet you can find of that conversion. Unless you have a vette with salvage title AND you have no other choice it makes no sense.
I recommend going to one of the more subdued C3 conversions myself.
This is kinda like hanging J-Lo's caboose on Taylor Swift...
That is the reason I like my stock 96 better. I just never liked the body styles after the C4. Every time I look at one, I think "ugly big butt". Also, I think the bodies after the C4 look very big and heavy (but their not). I live in San Francisco and I don't see many C4's but I see alot of vettes after the C4. That's another reason I like my car. It seems more unique.

Yes, if you want the look of a C5 buy one-they usually come with the rear bumper anyway! Prices are dropping.
My son-in-law just picked up a clean '01 fully loaded 6sp vert with 75K for $15,700
Original owner threw in many shop goodies and memorabilia too! The only thing needed is a rebuilt front seat. I was kind of hoping my daughter had told him no

I'm not convinced that's the C5 bumper shape. In fact, I'd bet against it.
I've seen bumpers (for sale) that have C5 shaped rear tail-lights in them. I think that's what this is. Really it's not bad -- if you like a more oval rear tail light.
I've seen the version with a small lip spoiler and I thought it looked very good.
You guys are over-reacting. It's not the full-monty C5 conversions we've seen gone bad.
