Don't usually frequent here (I'm better known as "Juliet's husband" or "Old what's his name") but thought I'd pass along a (true) local C-4 story.
One of the guys I work with had (note past tence) a C-4 (no, I don't know the year, but was the early body) with a Lingelfelter engine, chassis mods etc. He's really more into Porsche racing, runs a killer 911. He blew the trans in the C-4 for the third time last week. When he told me he said he was going to either junk it or give it to some charity, as he was tired of replacing the trans (700R4).
When I told Julie she started trying to figure out where she could stash a parts car (fortunetly she never found a place :D , and it didn't have enough HP for No Flight). I asked him today what he was planning to do with the Vette, and he said it was gone.
His wife was talking with a local landscaper about some work on their yard. The landscaper saw the Vette sitting and asked what they were doing with it. So ... wife calls husband ... calls landscaper ... and the Vette turns into new mulch and a few trees.
Who got the better end of the deal, I have no idea but both are happy with it. The new owner plans to drag race it, and has offered to let the old owner drive it sometime. Maybe it will show up a Vintage Thunder with a nice flower basket int the window
The problem is ... how do the "price guide" people figure out the going mulch/Vette exchange rate, and does it have a regional variation or not ?????? :jester
