Default C-4 Wheels

Hello,

We are rather new to the C-4 world. More specifically 16 inch wheels it is a 1984. I am looking for a different style wheel rather than the flat plate look. I wonder if any of you might know where I can go to achieve this. I have tried several sites on the internet but they all say they do not have this size for this application.

Maybe not what you are looking for, but a lot of early C4 owner's are switching to 17"x9.5" wheels like the later C4's had.

To use the later C4 wheels (and most aftermarket) you may need about a 0.75" adapter to allow for the different offset in the wheels.

I think there may be some aftermarket wheels in the 17"x9.5" sizes with the offset for the early C4's, but I am not sure who carries them.

Good luck with your search.

Try AFS Wheels Company. You can get 17X9.5 ZR1 type wheels in the correct early C4 wheel offset without using any adapters or spacers. You can order tire and rim sets and they will deliver them to your door. I bought them and am very happy with them.

If your looking for some replica corvette wheels try OEwheels. They have all of the C4,5 and 6 wheels in all different sizes. For about 5 or 6 hundred bucks you can get a new set delivered. I've bought 2 sets from them and have been very happy with them. I'm pretty sure that you'll need some adapters to run an aftermarket wheel.

Buy it now for $350. The seller is correct as these are very hard to find.

Finding 16" tires is becoming very difficult. Thats why 16" wheels are cheap.

You might find something here

I recommend moving up to 17" wheels. The tire selection is MUCH larger.

Thanks for the info. The OE Wheels LLC site has 17X9.5 ZR1 type but they are for a C5 & 6. I sure hate to flop out $1000 to find out they stick out/in to far. Do you think the C 5 or 6 would work?

Do you think these will work without adapter?

Those aren't the right offset for an early C4. You would need adapters with those wheels. Keep looking...........I'm pretty sure someone makes the ZR-1 style rim with the offset you need.

The nice thing is that they're 'Corvette wheels.' These are from a Grand Sport:

I liked them so much I got an aftermarket set in silver for the winter time:

And if you get bigger brakes, they'll fit with these rims.
Good Luck!

Send a private message to forum member DOCZ- 1st Rate Corvette Parts & Acc. for price and availability.
A phone call follow-up should be all that you need to get the proper wheels for your car.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/priv...newpm&u=287659

I believe DOCZ can get the proper offset for your car without you having to resort to adapters or spacers, at least that is what he told another forum member.
That way you can select almost any style or finish that you want, and yes... ZR1 spec wheels should be fine on your car with the proper offset.
