Default 88 center cap question

I have a 88 with saw blades and center caps. My question is the locking bolts are a pita. Is there a replacement bolt that does not need the locking pat. I was told try 5/16 Allen head bolt but I can't seem to find the correct thread pattern. Thanks guys if anybody has a answer it this forum.

I was going to make the same suggestion reagrding allen head bolts. I do not know off hand what the thread count is nor if they are metric or standard but I do know allen head bolts are available in all popular sizes/threads in varrious lengths if you look hard enough. May have to look at a specialty or industrial type place rather than Home Depot etc. Should be plenty of options in your area. If I have time this weekend I'll measure the threads on my 89 and let you know.

Thanks I've tried auto parts stores ace hardware home depot etc. they understand what I want they just don't have any. I think I'll try some tire & rim shops next.

You might check NASCAR's 5-time's store for the bolts. They are generally a LOT more organized in the nut, bolt and screw collections than HD. If they don't have what you need, you probably need to check a fastener specialty store.
