Question if two Pvc valves where accidentally installed on a L98 engine could this cause the gaskets to be sucked in and cause an oil leak due to the vacuum pressure. My mechanic says yes, I don't think it is possible. Captainricks

There is no way to "accidentally" install two PCV valves on an L98. It takes a hack job and dedicated Bubba to do something as moronic as that.
Tell the "mechanic" you want a pic. Surely he has a cell phone and can e-mail it to you.
I replied in your other thread on the same topic. You should ask for this one to be closed to avoid confusion.
Some engines have two PCV valves. I don't know if there are two in later L98s, but my '86 has only one.
There is a hose/tube combo that goes from the throttle body to the passenger side valve cover. This feeds filtered air into the crankcase. Some cars have a PCV valve on this side in the valve cover.
There is another hose/tube combo on the driver's side with a PCV valve in the valve cover that sucks the fumes out of the crankcase and feeds them into the intake manifold.
One thing that happens at WOT (low vacuum and maximum blowby) is that the ring blowby overwhelms the PCV system and pressurizes the crankcase. The PCV valve in the passenger side valve cover prevents oil fumes from being pushed into the throttle body. The PCV valve is just a one-way check valve.
My 1989 L98 should have only one PCV on driver's side. The other is just a "pipe" on the pasenger side. But having put two PCV on vette cause crankcase vacuum to cause engine seals to be sucked in and cause oil leaks? Captainricks
On the L98, the driver's side valve cover has the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve), and the passenger side valve cover has the CCV (Crankcase Ventilation Valve), which is essentially an empty tube that vents to the throttle body. Mine both look exactly the same so you have to pay attention.
If you had two PCV valves oil would push out of every leak you have.
I'm going to check on mine as soon as the temps cool down below 100 degrees. I think I have 4 PCVs.
I have enough oil coming out that Exxon wants to drill in my garage!
