Had a few leaks when it rained, so I ordered and received today the strip that goes over the windshield, as well as the one that goes over the back of the rear window. (Pillar and it's counterpart).
Every part of the install went very well. Then I went to put the roof back on and of course the new weatherstripping was fatter and I couldn't get the roof mount screws to line up. Since everything else did go so well, I thought I would call it a night and attempt to attach the roof in the morning.
it appears that roof at the back now sits about a half inch too high for the screws to line up. I tried once to push down on it but that didn't do anything. (Never tried the front ones).
So, what are your suggestions to get the back end of the roof down about a half inch? Sit on it?!?! Once on, I don't care if it every comes off again, as long as it doesn't ever leak again.
Park it out in the sun for a bit to get the weather stripping hot, then get someone to push down on the roof while you tighten the bolts. Thread them all in a good ways first, then do your final tighten.
The let the sun warm things up was so obvious that I missed it Duh! Worked like a charm and the OEM seals are in place, AND the windows won't have to be adjusted. All that's left is the water test, but I'm sure that will be fine. It was really hard to line up, and is on VERY tight. Thanks for the help.
