trying to make the underside of my hood on my 88 look better does anyone one have ideas,I know I could buy a mirror kit but that is alittle expensive please help and if you have pics it would be great
Because of the very high heat under there whatever you do will have to stand up to that..getting it painted with some kind of picture will cost more than a mirror kit...its not a cheap mod to attempt...
As an easier alternative to paint, what about vinyl? colored to match the exterior. Obviously it would have to resist the heat. Anyone ever done it before?

Take it off, remove the hardware, lights, wires etc and paint it body color. I have seen this before and it looks very nice. This won't work with a black car too well though.
One of the guys in my Corvette club used metal polish to polish the whole inside of his hood -- insane! It looks like it was painted with high gloss black paint, which is probably a LOT easier to do.
