OK, I'll set it up....
About a week ago I am told that my (locked and parked under car cover) '94 started blaring the horn - this apparently happened 2-3 times, with the horn getting weaker and weaker in sound.
I come home and of course the car doesn't start
battery at 7 volts. Since the battery is 5 years old anyway, I just pulled and replaced it. Started up just fine. However, the horn didn't work. Horn fuse was also blown, so I replaced that as well.
I knew that my door ajar switches were bad (had to chase around to find replacements and ohm tested each one of them, since the QC on those were terrible - and I did find NEW ones that were BAD
), so I went ahead and replaced them today. They are working fine.
Then, I tried to use the horn again (both sides), and upon doing so, I heard the fuse blow again. So, a total of 3 blown fuses. Didn't put any more in for now...
I cannot find my FSM anywhere, so I am at a loss as to what things to check and where to find said items to check...can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
Did find a few threads but still unsure...

I'd dig for that FSM for openers. Probably one of those electrical gremlins that defy easy repair. I'd offer to check my FSM but it's a 2-year difference and all it takes is for one wire to be different and it's useless to you.
Did the car ever have an aftermarket alarm on it? What else goes through that horn fuse that could have a short in it? Do you have an owners manual that would tell you what's on that circuit?

No aftermarket alarm, and the PKE system has been inoperable for a while now (I suspect a bad receiver on that issue, haven't exactly been too keen on ripping out the dash anytime soon
).I have a hunch that the horn contacts are toast, but just got back from a trip and haven't had time to attack it until now. Just thought I'd see if anyone concurred with that hunch and/or if there is anything else I should be checking...
Horn contacts are toast. I had this same problem, and it really bothered the hell out of me, but now looking back it was pretty funny. It would even do it just driving down the road, and the horn would just get stuck on, scaring the hell out of people walking on the sidewalk and such.
The contacts are plastic and are no longer manufactured. I looked everywhere for a left over set with no luck. I took everything apart and was able to save one of the contacts with superglue so I still have a functional horn. But my left horn button no longer works.
Let me know if you find any still out there.

The switches are probably broken. I had the same problem a couple of years ago and bought a new set on Amazon if I recall correctly. Here is a picture of the box with the part numbers. Thay are very easily replaced. Did a quick search using the AC Delco number and found it at O'Rielly, and http://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/gm...-17999094.html

So what are we all supposed to do if they are no longer available (since it is a state safety inspection item)?Would going to an aftermarket steering wheel with horn (Momo) be our only option?
probably is not what's causing the Horn fuse to open.
There are two horns under the hood one bolted to each
front frame rail.
Disconnect the electrical connector at both horns.
Install a new Horn fuse.
With the horns disconnected, press on the steering wheel horn
button. You should hear the Horn relay click each time
you press the horn switch. If the fuse doesn't blow, install
one horn connector back on and test again. If the fuse
blows, that horn is bad.

You could have bad steering wheel horn switches but that
probably is not what's causing the Horn fuse to open.
