If it's in good condition? You bet it is. It's still a '68 Camaro, classic car, cool ride...and it's not like the 90 can't be replaced soon

astepup said that

That may be an interesting trade. It may depend on some of the Camaro options, but replacing the vette is a whole lot easier than finding a good condition Camaro.

Don't get too excited about the 68 Camaro. I had a restored 68 Firebird which is basically the same car. Though it was VERY nice, I was constantly chasing "old car" problems. Rust, wiring, expensive replacement parts, etc. It didn't handle for squat, and not real comfortable if driving more than an hour. Remember it's 22 years older than your 90 C4. The Camaro will hold a good price but at a certain price for the owner. After you own a car as old as the Camaro is, it will become just an old car to you after a short while and it will empty your wallet a lot quicker than you C4 does. Trust me.

Might be a case of him/her wanting to trade their project for your driver.

While that might be true, the Camaro value could easily be quite a bit more and continue moving upward. Its a no brainer if the Camaro isnt junk.

If you arent cut out for a project or dealing with "classic car" issues, the car might not be for you, but depending on the Camaro's condition it could be a great opportunity.

Anyone who owns a first generation Camaro-Firebird knows what their car is worth. Being the former owner of one, I kept constant tabs on its value. They also know what needs fixed or repaired on them, what it's going to cost to do so, and when its time to sell. I would say this Camaro owner knows it's going to take big bucks to make it worth the fortune that these cars can draw sometimes. He may just want to bail out of it and cut his losses while he can trade even for a driver Corvette and make the Vette owner think he got the deal of the century. Do your homework on early Camaros first. Lots of expensive work is needed to make them look, run and perform even as daily drivers.

Tomorrow I go back to work and I will stop in to talk to the Dr. I dont need a big project because I'm getting one. I just painted a 87 mustang vert for a guy in town in exchange for a 68 firebird thats been sitting in his horse pasture. I did it because I have a pontiac 400 engine and a 400 turbo trans sitting at my parents. along with some extra parts. My problem is my health. I'm afraid the wheels are falling off the cart. My transplant Dr. wants me on social security. I have a hard time with that but my new liver is half gone and the Dr. Is doing everything he can to save it. That being said Thats why I told the Dr. no. Because my 90 vert is nice it only has 33000 miles on it it runs perfect and sounds good. It does't need anything but maintence. No I take that back sometimes the light comes on for the FX3 and the tire pressure then everyone seems to have the light for the seat belt and the airbag. That dont stop the car from running and I will fix it in due time
