9/16 - 18. The thread length on the shifter is 1.155 inches. I just ordered a ball for mine 2 weeks ago and verified the thread inside the **** with a tap. Can't believe we're both on here at 4 am!

Thanks for the info. I have a c5 and make shift *****. I have a friend with a c4, and he was admiring one last nite. Now I know I can give it to him.
