Is it normal for their to be excessive pressure in the gas tank? I went thru the whole test procedure in the tech manual and every thing showed ok (all valves, canister, and solenoid). I have to unscrew the cap slowly, and hear a wooosh sound for about 15 seconds or so (can hear the tank flex sometimes). Seems worse as the fuel leverl gets lower. Is this normal? or am I a paranoid individual?
Same here, especially if my tank is almost empty and it is hot outside. I don't worry because this has happened to me on other cars that I have owned.
Can you blow through the line to the tank from the canister ?
I found some of the steel sectionsunder the car were full of rust and since replacing them I don't get such a pressure build up as I used to.
Some pressure will build up as the tank empties because there is more space for the hot fuel being returned from the engine to vaporize and less cold fuel in the tank to cool it down.

Perfectly normal :yesnod: and make sure you keep opening the cap slowly to vent or you will end up with a face of fuel  Further, if the cap does not hold pressure it will cause your check engine light to go off.

I may be wrong but I think its vacuum not pressure.
I actually went to the trouble of disassembling the cap and cutting down the spring on the vacuum relief (don't tell the EPA) because I thought I may be 'hanging' fuel in the tank. Next trip to the pump, woosh! It's definitely not vacuum. Pressure I can live with or I'd be cutting that spring too.
You have a rusted closed fuel vapor line that runs beside the gas line from the tank to the vapor recovery tank up by the left headlight tub.
Run a search on "Tank Pressure"
Mine has been fixed, and I get only an occasional slight hiss when removing the gas cap.
Took me 6 hours to remove the line, rod out the rust particles and put it all back together.
