Its nothing serious.......but you know that time when you go near your car and want to show off how it sounds but dont want to wait till you get at an idle....well thats what im talking about. I fire the car up and as soon as it turns over and starts......i give it a little bit of gas,....nnot alot but rev it up to about 3 grand or so. as soon as it comes back down......it stalls......why?...Someone told me told me to change my PCV valve and that would stop that from happening. I mean its nothing super serious and that thne car runs like crap....the car runs fine.....i just would like to have my lil prob solved instead of always haveing it. thanks :D :D
My first guess would be the Idle Air Control motor. When you rev the engine up high it changes position, but when you let the throttle plates close after the rev they cannot react fast enough. My first attempt at a fix would be to clean the IAC and Throttle Body.

Re: Engine stall...whats causing it??? (Blackout)
Dude, you've got an L98...........I had the same prob and I tried to mess with the throttle sensor that was affecting the idle. Turns out a couple things were wrong and it wasn't the throttle sensor or any idle air flow problems. If you hear a hissing sound it might be a leak in one of the pipes, but probably not anything to do with it. L98s have to be reved like that cuz of the way they fire........only a high enough rpm will let them stay at a good idle and when you hold it down for a while it forces it to go back into loop mode which is why the idle goes well afterwards. But that really shouldn't be necessary at all if it was running how it should. What you probably have is your TPI needs to be cleaned out. Tuned Port Injection cleaner was used to clean out mine when I first got it and I found out my car was choked to death which is probably happening to yours. World of difference. The second was that the pipes needed to be entirely clear. L98's biggest problems are that they can't breath correctly. Once you f that up.......the car goes to hell........fix it and the monster returns like it's reborn. It's probably your Tuned Port intake area that needs to be cleaned out.......if you haven't cleaned it in a while.......watch inside......it's probably pitch black. That's like the worst thing that could happen to your engine if it isn't fixed. Should be done atleast once every 5,000 miles or so from what I've been told. And actually yes a PCV valve could make a world of dif from what I've been told aswell. A jacked up or old and worn pcv could be robbing you of alot of performance power.
By the way, your sound sys sounds very close to mine. Pioneer Rulez
