Re: Weird thing I discovered while doing my carpets (thrills)
Jenn,
Did you replace the passenger side crash pad? It doesn't look like it's there in the pic. If you did, did you put a Corvette emblem on it? I made this change to the flat panel and like it, but it looks plain without a logo or lettering on it. Also, please let us know how the carpet job comes out when finished. My '85 will need it before too long.
Thanks,

 Are you talking about the plastic seatbelt covers? I see no red, only gray and blue.
Nope the plastic covers are blue, the nylon belts inside are what's odd colored!
I don't think there was ever any recall work, I have all of the paperwork on the car and I never saw that in the reciepts. Then again he might not have saved that.
I suggest that you check what else needs to be replaced while you have it apart, for example I had to replace the storage bin frame and doors. Also give yourself plenty of time, we cleaned each part as we took it off. This was stuff that had 18 years worth of sweat and grime
Email me if you have any specific questions about what we did. I feel like an expert now ;)
Re: Weird thing I discovered while doing my carpets (thrills)
They've been doing that for years Jenn. In 1970 the short belt piece alongside the trans tunnel is black for just about all interiors since it's covered by the plastic trim piece and not visible - until you get around to restoring the car! :yesnod: :smash:
