I just discovered that the 1986 I purchased recently did not come with the Wleel Lock Key. The instruction sheet is supposed to be stored with the owners manual, it isn't.
How do I determine which wheel lock key I need, assuming there are more than one?
Where can I buy the correct wheel lock key?
Does anyone have a copy of the instruction sheet that they would be willing to share?
Will someone show me a picture of a wheel lock key? I beleive it is used in conjunction with the wheel wrench which I do have.
Any help would be appreciated.
Here's a picture of the one for my 90. My directions are actually pages in my manual. Did you look for the lock in your center console? That's where they are supposed to be kept. Below is a link on how to change a corvette tire, hopes this helps!
I got tired of dealing with the stupid lock and bought 4 new plain lug nuts from the Chevy dealer to replace the locking ones.
Then I finally got irritated with the stupid plastic lug nut covers and replaced all my lug nuts with a set of chromed ones from one of the Corvette vendors. I think they were $34.95, which is super reasonable considering how much aggravation they saved...
Speaking of lug nut covers... I picked up my brand new '86 Corvette on December 24th 1985 (merry Christmas!). When I got home 3 of the lug nut covers were missing. That was the beginning, and it just got worse over the years.

If the OP is still lurking, Amcor was the manufacturer of the wheel locks for the Corvette at least in 1990 and 1991. Someone here should be able to verify that they were the manufacturer in other year C4s. Here is their website: http://www.amcorlocks.com/
They have replacement locks if you have the ID number (on a silver card in your owner's manual if its still around). Alternatively, you can take a picture of the wheel lock and they can match it up for you. You may want to drop the spare tire and check in that compartment as sometimes the lock is in a bag with the spare.
