What size wheel spacers?
I'm picking up a set of wheels off of a c5. I was wondering what size spacers I will need to get them to look right. The car they are going on is a 1987. The wheel sizes are:
fronts: 17 x 9.5 +54
rears: 18 x 10.5 +56

Do you have tires on your C5 wheels that you intend to run?

I agree, tire size is far more important than wheel width when it comes to offset and spacers.
You can bolt on C5 wheels without spacers at all but they will be hidden under the fenders. You can calculate the difference between your old and new wheel offset and get back to the stock fender gap. IMO that also leaves the tyre under the fenders too much (with stock sizes) so I like a little less offset.

Not knowing tire sizes handicaps a good fit.
If I already had tires on the C5's I'd mount them if I could and drop a plumb bob at the center of each wheel and measure from the tire side wall towards the string and where ever I decided I wanted the side wall would be the thickness of the adapter required.

The rims did come with tires on them that have a little bit of life left. The tires are just what I think as way to small for the rims. The front rims have 245's on them and the rears only 275's. I would think with the 9.5 front they should atleast be a 255 and the rears with 10.5 should be anywheres from 295-315's. I may try mounting them as is see what it looks like and if it rubs on anything(which I am not sure if that will be an issue or not) then go from there.
Luckly a local auto store has a nice selection of spacers in stock so I can shoot over there after popping on the front and rear wheels on the one side.
