help, what is this?
on my 88 the po upgrade to a tpis miniram set up and some things he left, well just hanging around. i have taken care of most of it but found this today trying to locate the vacume line that goes to the vent system inside the car. this is hanging around the back of the engine behind the distributor. it looks like a temp. sensor of some kind maybe screwed into the tpi intake? my 89 trans am doesnt seam to have this. so i am lost. thanks mark

That is the MAT sensor. There is no place for it in he Miniram. Some people relocate it to the air cleaner housing.
I have a Miniram and a supercharger. I don't use that sensor. I have been told if the EGR is done away with, it serves no function.
On a stock manifold it screws in under the plenum.

thanks painter man, could you please post some pics of your engine i would love to see them. also it has a dead spot when you tip into the throttle, it doesnt matter if you are at a dead stop or doing 70 on the interstate. no vacume leaks that i can find, timing is correct, fuel pressure is correct, all new sensors, plugs ect. any suggestions. thanks mark
