Years ago Mid America had this device that you plug into your cig lighter and connected a 9V battery to it. This was used to save all data when you disconnected your battery. Is this still around or something close to it? Thanks
No, the little 9v battery will not last more than a half-hour or so. The intent of that component is to save things like radio settings and ECM data while a battery is being exchanged.

So there is nothing I can do correct? Like I said, I wont be able to use the tender (no electric) and I do not want to take the battery completely out. Ideas?? Thanks

Can you charge it from your dd with jumper cables now & then?
Just make sure the battery is fully charged and disconnect the negative. You'll have to reset the clock and radio presets in the spring and your computer may need to relearn a few things, but it's not a big deal. Your battery will not run down and everything will be fine. You might want to take the battery out and recharge it once or twice out of the car.

I remove mine entirely from the car. I install (leave side panel off) once a month and run the car. No issues, just hook up the battery correctly, you won't hurt a thing.
I keep it topped off in my basement with a maintenance charger.
Driving the car a few times relearns all your fuel trims and things no big deal.
