Default Paging LT4Automatic

Do you really have an LT4 automatic? If so, tell us about it. Got any pics?

He could have an LT4 automatic, but it didn't come from the factory that way.

Every LT4 "auto" claim has been dis-proven by having an LT1 VIN and window stickers that say LT1.

No factory LT4 auto's exist. BUT, there are a bunch out there that were modified after the fact.

I made a post a few months ago about one I saw at the factory inB/G.It was June of 96 and it was parted in the GM big shot parking area/ I always wondered if some high up exec had some special pull. I only gave it a second thought because of where it was parked

There are NO LT4 automatics from the factory. There was a particular car which everyone hears about as being the "only" LT4 automatic from the factory, but after extensive research (we are talking four years and still going) on the 96 corvettes, I can say with all certainty there is no "factory" LT4 automatics. It may have been possible for GM to put one together as a test mule, but it was never sold to the public, and the combination was never certified for emissions. So if there is one, it was never sold as one from GM. If anyone has proof to the otherwise, I'd be more than happy to take a road trip and see it!

Like Rottie says.

There is a guy here named LT4Automatic, I believe he's from Ohio. There is a story behind his car but I forget what it is.
It is an LT4 with an automatic, but I don't believe it came like that from the factory.

Those of you making fun should knock it off if you don't know what's going on. :mad
Now I have to keep my eye on yet another post :mad

He's from the Columbus area and a member of this forum. We met up with him at one of our forum get togethers. The car is a 96 CE that came from the factory with an LT1 and had an LT4 installed by the GM engineer that first bought the car along with a high stall torque converter.

I have quite a few pics of the car but I'll let him post them if he feels like it. Personally I wouldn't bother given some of the responses.

Agreed. My intent for this thread was to hear about this car, not to make accusations about anything. I like to hear about interesting cars. Hopefully LT4Automatic will be inclined to post.

Edit: PS: Thanks for the "help" guys.

Don't take to much offense to the posts. People are just getting really tired of hearing about the "factory LT4 automatic" that everyone claims to have. There are lots of LT4 automatics running around, it's not that hard to make the conversion, although most people do not do the complete conversion. It sounds like LT4Automatic has a real crate LT4 in place of the LT1, not just the top end?

Blue92: Do you guys frequent any of the races (auto-x, mid-ohio, scca, drags)? We were in columbus quite a bit last year for auto-x at the gm plant, if you were there, I'm sure you saw us....

Several of us hit the Tesst & Tune days at National Trails. I didn't know they still ran Auto-X at the GM plant. Been years since I lived on that side of town.

Yea, they ran several last year, but I don't think there are any this year (at least not with NCCC). They moved most of them up to the GM plant in Mansfield or Akron. They are running Mid-Ohio in June (22-23 I believe) which we will be at (Karyn will be running, I'll be doing timing). Should be an interesting time.....

I took some pictures of it at Eckler's Springfest, but I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner. These are the only pics I could find.

Mr. Mojo,
Was that directed at me? All I did was post the pics I had. I wasn't making fun of the owner or the car. I thought it was an interesting car, and people wanted to see pictures.
