84 dash not working

84 dash not working
Well my dash quit on me and I found a local one forsale on Craigslist but the guy says its out of an 86. He said the 86 is a little smaller but should fit in my 84. Just wanted to know if it would fit for sure before I mad the 45 min trip.

He is parting out several corvettes and said it was just recently rebuilt. I'll test it before I buy though. I just didn't know if there was a difference and if another year model would fit

I know the dash was changed in 1985 - the numbers were made larger and the colors changed somewhat. I didn't know the actual size was different, however.
