I have a 87 model , seems like it's a very good year.
Think in a budget for possible repairs on the long road.
but seems like its very well taken care of ! looks good !
i'd say go for it !
What's your plans ?
Electronics...make sure they all work let the car run for quite awhile drive it in slow traffic...watch temps or funny idling characteristics.
Get it up to hwy speed feel for vibrations. (other than the stiff ride)
Entry level, yes. Some get all offended over it but thats what they are
Come on they are a cheap way into a sportscar nothing wrong with that.
Cheapest of all the Vettes out there thats a good thing if you want one
Does Florida require mechanical state inspection ??? before a car can be sold... ???
Maryland does..BUT not on a car over 20 years old.. When I was offered an 88 I drove the car for almost an hour and did not find anything that I objected to BUT I still asked the seller to put it thru our States inspection..
Passed with flying colors except for 3 things.
1. Window tint was too dark (who cares especially since I liked it)
2. Both front hubs needed to be replaced ($600)
3. Although the tires all had plenty of thread THEY needed to be replaced ($1000)
Seller took care of those items and then I gave him his original asking price.. IF he refused I would not have the car...
Its pretty easy to need to spend $1000 just to get a 20+ year old car to pass Maryland Inspection and Maryland is NOT nearly as strict as most other States...
