'86 Iron head code 36
Had lots of good input on this code,tests found a bad coil in the burn off relay.I reused one of the old ones until I get the OEM,have the #'s,still have the code but all runs well and I'll get back at as soon as possible.So,I took my girlfriend to Skyline drive and along the way I pumped $45 bucks of high test water from a Citco in Harrisonburg,Va.Well I'm sure you know the rest.1/4 mi. from the station and all "H" broke loose.Got some additives and limped back home,in the slow lane.E-mailed the station,called the station,e-mailed corporate,no response.Contacted the division of weights and measurements and they were more than glad to hear from me.They had me send all my receipts,gas purchase and parts.They said tests on their tanks,all three grades,will be taken ASAP.The plugs looked as if they were rusted,replaced them first,no change,found fuel pressure at 30lbs.Replaced the fuel pump and removed the pulsation damper,old FYI,used a good fuel line and hose clamps.Runs good again,I'll take the girlfriend out in the Benz next time.PS,AAA can't P/U a Vette,I'm looking into that!
