So I have a 94 coupe and I want to do a big brake kit on it so that means the 17's won't work anymore.... I really like the 2012 Grand Sport or the 2012 Z06 spyder wheels.... The sizes I want are the following.....
FRONT WHEEL SIZE: 18x9.5
FRONT WHEEL OFFSET: 40
REAR WHEEL SIZE: 19x12
REAR WHEEL OFFSET: 59
BOLT PATTERN: 5-120.65
HUB SIZE: 70.3
So my question is will they fit?
has anyone put these size wheels with this offset on their car?
what size tires would I be looking at?
When you say "big brake" what do you mean? A lot of folks here won't respond if you don't give complete info.
The stock J55 "big brakes" wirk just fine with 17's.
As for the C6 wheels on an 87-96 cars, I'm pretty sure the fronts bolt on without issue, the rear Z06 wheels (I thnk) will hang out past the fenders. I'm sure someone else will chime in with better/more accurate info.
I just put c6 rims on my 85. I know the offset is different but for mine it was the 18x8.5 and 19x10. I used a 1" spacer in the front and 1.5" in the rear. They are pretty much perfect with the body but if the rears were 2 inches wider in the rear I would be nervous of it rubbing (if it was even with the body).
Just got to say though. I've got more compliments on my car now, than ever before

The intention is to go with C6 Z06 or the big boy Willwood 6 piston brakes.... And I still want to retain similar widths out back so I want 19x12 out back.
They'll bolt right on and work fine, but the rear wheels are gonna stick out 1.5" or so. If I remember correctly you have GS flares so that should help. I still think they'll hang out past the flare a bit.
Same offset as what? C4 GS offset is 50mm. C6 GS offset is 59mm. So the C6 GS rim will stick out 9mm (.35") further then the C4 GS offset. Anyone that has 50mm 17x11 rims on the rear of their C4 knows that they stick out about .25 past the quarter panel (on 88-96 cars) so the rims he is considering will stick out more than twice that amount (.60" or so). That amount would look pretty ghetto on a car without GS flares, but with GS flares it might look OK.
that thread I linked has a chart, you're posting pictures of wheels that arent being considered, try to stay on topic and help the original poster with his issue
hope this helps http://forums.corvetteforum.com/foru...hijacking.html
btw have you looked at a ruler and saw what 9mm actually is?
How am I hijacking the thread when the wheels I posted have the exact same offset as the wheels he's referring to. I believe I've covered his question pretty well
As far as I can see I'm the only who posted a picture of exactly how the rims he talking about will fit his car, but thanks for your misguided criticism.
theres no way to tell if those wheels youre posting picks of are oe or aftermarket, they're not the same style as the op has an issue he'd like help with, how those rims look on that car is irrevalent to the op's question. In an effort to help you understand what I'm talking about, this is a pic of my 87 track car
I fully understand, but evidently you do not. The wheels I posted are OEM C6 Z06 wheels on a 94 Corvette (the same year as Impala Balko's car). C6 Z06 wheels are identical to to C6 Grand Sport wheels and C6 Z06 spyder wheels (the wheels Impala Balko asked about) as far as dimensions go. They are the same offset, same width, same diameter, etc. The picture I posted is exactly how they will look on his car.
Your car is an 87, which I'm sure you realize, fits a different offset wheel than 88-96 Corvettes.
I'm not quite sure what your issue is, but my posts have been spot on and "on topic" as far as trying to help the OP answer his question. Unfortunately, you keep hijacking his thread by going on tangents about forum rules.

Wheel only (no tires) !!!!!
The rear (wheel only) will be 22 mm closer to suspension components and will extend outboard 4 mm further than the 11" 50 mm C4 GS.
The front (wheel only) based on rotor/hub of the C4 "as is" the inner clearance is increased but will extend 16 mm further than a C4 9.5" 56 mm. I seem to recall the Z06 brake assembly alters the front hub/rotor placement somewhat. There's more to the "big-front" brake build regardless of brand!
I'd say there's issues at for sure the rear. The front I would think also an issue but maybe the 16 mm isn't. The snapshot of the ZR-1 doesn't seem to reflect an issue up front but in the rear you need to consider the additional "body width"! I'd need to either see one 1st hand or arrange a trial fit with a C6 guy before I spent any of my money. I'd maybe even pay the C6 guy for the test!
