I wish I could say I was 16 and getting my first corvette, but I've had to wait just a bit longer to achieve my dream. I've dreamed of owning a corvette since high school but the timing just never worked out. Almost got one on my return from Viet Nam but being young and in the military made it impossible to afford the insurance. Family obligations and practicality kept me from owning one until now.
So here I am, 53 years old and feeling like a kid again driving around in my Corvette. It's a little late but I'm glad to finally be joining the ranks of proud Corvette owners.
Isn't that feeling great! I bought mine as a 32nd birthday gift to myself after years of coveting. Almost a full year later I am still grinning ear to ear when I think that I own a Corvette.
Welcome. I know just how you feel. I watched "Route 66" in my younger days and fell in love with the Corvette. Then at age 50 I got my first one. I've had it two years now and having a blast. Might get a straight axle when I retire and have two.

It is never too late... Enjoy the ride and remember to wave.

Re: New Owner (RDRUNR)
When I came home from Nam, I couldn't afford a new Vette so I got a Dodge Super Bee. Then the family came along and I turned 47 before I got my first Vette. It is never too late and the more you drive it the younger you feel  Enjoy this forum too, but beware, it is habit forming :seeya
