Default 350 engine build

Hey guys got a couple questions to ask. First this isn't a vette question I'm leaving my 84 stock but this is for my 78 caprice project but theirs a lot of knowledge on this forum so I wanna get your guys opinions. I'm building a 350 bored .60 over has 20/20 over crank that's new n I bought the .60 over rebuild kit. It has flat top pistons n I got a comp cam 268h-10 .454 lift n I just recently bought a set of 062 vortec heads with beehive springs n had them shaved just a lil bit due to being slightly warped but now their good. My question is what's a good intake to go with an should I buy the 1.6 rockers self aligning I'm taking my time with it so money isn't really an issue an will my stock push rods work with this set up. Will a 600 carb be good enough to for this I have a stock 350 turbo and a 2200 stall n it has the stock gear not sure what that is thnx for any info

It might help (me, at least) to know what you were trying to end up with when finished. That way it would be possible to discuss more intelegently what you have or need. Otherwise, it is anybody's guess what you'll end up with or whether it will accomplish what you are trying to do. Yaknowwhaddimean??

self aligning rockers ? every time I took the valve covers off my LT4 with the factory self aligning rockers, one or more rocker was askew on the valve stem; long story short, I don't think the factory style are particularily reliable. An aftermarket rocker arm with larger "self aligners" (discs) at the rocker tip might be okay.

I'm not familiar with the style head you are planning on using, but if the slots where the push rods pass through are narrow (little wider than the pushrod itself), that is the aligning mechanism; if they are wide or round, then either hardened guideplates and hardened pushrods must be fitted or self aligning rockers used.

good luck

Thnx n they're just the regular 062 vortec heads used on 96 to 00 chevys same as the 906 I was told I had to use the self aligning rockers for them
