What does a general tune up consist of for an 1995 LT1 ???
........ At a minimum , I would change the spark plugs and the primary O2 Sensors ...... the spark plug wires should be considered and at least closely inspected , if not replaced ..... and replace / clean the air filter and the PCV valve ......... take a look inside the throttle body for any gunk build-up and clean as necessary .........
Major tune-up: plugs, wire, optispark, primary or pre-cat O2 sensors.
Minor tune-up: plugs, O2 sensors.
Plugs are no longer changed as often as they needed to be with carb'ed engines of the past....electronic fuel injection allows for 100k miles on plugs as long as the system is functioning properly.
Now certain plugs have had problems...have read where Delco Platinum plugs have lost the platinum puck in far less than 100k miles. I am sure other plugs have other problems....just using this an an example.
Plug changing is somewhat easy...not so much cylinders 6 & 8...but still takes about 1.5 hours to do all of them.
