Howdy ya'll! I got my first vette last friday. Its an 84 auto with a new paint job, crossfire (sucks) and in great shape. it has 116 000 original km's on it (Canada) and was never driven in the winter. Its in amazing shape. At first i really did not want it, but i got such a good deal (6800 CDN). I recently sold my 94 firebird formula, and i made some money on it, so i paid cash for the vette. Its pretty nice, but the 700r4 is kinda mushy and the crossfire is WAYYYY under powered, the ride is a little rough, but the handling is amazing, the rims are ugly as heck too. but overall its a tight ride and i am the only 17 yr old in my city with a vette, thats pretty cool.
anyways, i am lookin for some more eye appealing rims, if you guys can keep an eye out for me that would be great.
also, what can i do to the crossfire to open her up a bit? coming off an LT1 to the crossfire really was kinda frustrating for me!
Welcome to the club Bro! 1st rule, you've got to remember to wave to fellow Vette owners out on the road :seeya Heck, I even catch myself waving at Vette's when I'm driving my other vehicles
Unless you're really fond of the dual Toliet Bowl Injection system, I'd pitch it and put a carb on. It's cheaper, and a LOT less restrictive. At the worst, you might have to play games to make an air cleaner fit, but an air intake system from a 90s V8 Grand Cherokee and a little creativity could result in a real nice air cleaner system.
oh for sure!!! always wave, i have been waving at all vettes and fbodys for a solid year now. Man i am without her for at least 2 weeks.... here are the mods that are going in.
373's
17x9 94 Rims
Xram
computer all redone by Lyndon wester, including new injectors
shift kit
tint (5% on the hatch, 20% on the sides)
already got 2 ten inch subs and rockford amp to go with the full pioneer setup
oh and fixing all the little things, (AC recharged, Valve cover gaskets, headlight motot, etc)
so in about 2-3 weeks she should be a heckuva lot more fun, and better looking, what do you guys think of the mods i have listed? are they a good start? :chevy
when you say computer all re done..what do you mean by redone? Dont have the tbis rebuilt until you have them bored. Once you get on the crossfire forum ask lionsden, he does them cheap
Talk like a Texan? more like a Tucson boy, lived in the area for 6 years. My Dad is an American, and my grandfather was born and raised in Texas and now lives in Oklahoma, so i spose i could be a texan kinda.
As for computer redone..... There is this guy in a little hick town in alberta that burns his own chips. I have known him my whole life and he gives me rad deals, with just computer mods he got my Formula to kick out 295rwhp, that was impressive, and the driveability was better and smoother. he is using my Vette as a project to put on his website to prove that he can get the thing to have some sorta power. i will get the link to his website and post it ASAP, its cheezy, but he is a one man crew and does it all. All the Hi-po guys around here go to him, and a few from down south.... he gets orders from guys all over the world, yet still lives in hick town canada, i don't get it. oh well.
besides all that, what kind of time do you think i will be running?
Welcome to the Forum. I just got my '89 about 2 months ago. It's a blast! You should check into the events and stuff like that. They are soo much fun :yesnod:
